Bit's birthday trip.
Taiwan-Day FIVE.

Started our day with breakfast at a random shop in Xi Men Ding.
It was 8+am I think.
Super early cos we were going to Jiufen & Shifen!

Us with our "Ru rou fan", cabbage & Goose meat.

Me likey the ru rou fan although not much rou hahaha.
but very xiang.

The braised goose so nice! luckily dear Jake spotted this on the menu.
It tasted somewhat like duck but much more tender.
We decided that we have to come back one more time before we head back to SG.

Met up with our driver below our hostel at 9+am.
Drove up to Jiufen.
Forgot how much we engaged him, but it was reasonable!
Very good service and sincere.
we will call him again if we ever go back :)

It was very crowded that day, and it's drizzling so makes it even more humid.
Came to a point where we finally have some space.
This is Jiufen lao jie.

I love this!
It's very thin popiah skin + peanut crumbs + 2 mini scoops of i-duno-what-flavour ice cream!
yummyyyy. i almost gave it a miss until Jake asked again: "you sure?"
hehe.

another favourite!

Love anything in a shell. lol

A must try legend! seems very popular when we researched about Jiufen food.
The shopfront already made the dessert look awesome.

See what I meant.

Hot hot fish & meat ball soup.

still drizzling..

Then our driver fetched us to the nearby "Jin Gua Shi" (Golden Pumpkin Rock? lol)

The cold wind blows, the fresh air, the loud waterfall.

It's called Jin gua Shi bcos long long ago..
the area used to be a mine for some element that is somewhat like gold (but not gold).
and it makes the water abit yellowish.
ok i am not exactly attentive hehehe.
I only know the water flows into the nearby sea,
and the water near the shore is a mixture of yellow & blue.
thats why it's call "yuan yang hai".

Made our way to Shifen.
Praying that the rain will stop so that we can fang tian deng.
It's my birthday wish :)

Thank god we can still do what we want when we reached there.
I so happy one!

The train that went pass our tian deng shop.

Because we are greedy people,
We got the one with 4 colours,
that means cover everything hehehe!

My dear so sweet,
if u can see what he wrote, in English.
Chang e can read English meh? lols.

The shop owner so good help us take photo :)
Getting ready.

那些年,我们一起放的天灯.

sending our hopes.

One day we will get so high..

Took a short walk before we hop on for our Night Market..

The driver dropped us and left for the day!

So we can take our own sweet time here..

I was so curious about this.
Was walking towards the stall when suddenly somebody pull my backpack and shove me aside.
it was a rude auntie from mainland.
super astonished by her action.
But i did not let such people spoil my night.
Cant be bothered -.-
Anyway, fried milk is nice!
they dipped it in flour before frying. hehe.

Happy to find somewhere to settle down for our dinner..
most TW night markets got no seats,
got to stand while you eat,
Hand busy, mouth busy, legs tired!
We still prefer to sit down & enjoy our food.

Steak + Lamb.
Jake specially ordered the lamb for me :))
The spaghetti was the worse we ever tasted. lol
didnt eat it bcos we wanted to save our tummies for nice food!

When there's oyster, someone is always very excited like a kid. hehe.

Grilled one. Me also likey!
TWD100 for 7.

Mini pancakes. but nothing to shout about.
TWD50 for 6.

Mua chee again!
TWD 50.

legendary pepper biscuit "hu jiao bing"
Long queue lehhh..

Stuck to the wall one.
so cute. lol

forgot how much, TWD45?
nice!

Too lazy to take MRT back,
took a cab instead.
We so lazy, spent alot on transport bcos we keep taking car & cab.
hahaha.

love,
Jace.
